Jord's a Teenager!!

I can't believe this kid is 13! He came into this world so fast, and has kept going that way! He doesn't slow down except to sleep!! He has been so fun to watch in sports, and is a good helper at home! He loves his responsibilities at church and takes his calling seriously! He even joined the choir with a bunch of his buddies (he can't carry a tune in a bucket) but he wanted to do it! He is super smart and is in advanced classes at school - AND getting straight A's in them too! He's not afraid to work, even though we get a few complaints, but still gets the job done, and in a hurry too! He is always asking for treats, he's definitely got a sweet tooth! Hence the big tub of licorice - that will last about a week - tops!! We sure love him, and glad to have him around!!

What matters most?

Here it is the 31st day of January - yes I am a procrastinator! BIG TIME! I {LOVE} to make New Year's Resolutions - not that I always keep them, but I love making lists and seeing changes in myself! Since I have gone to work I have set so many important things to the side and have become quite lazy. I struggle with daily challenges, kids, time, balance and can't seem to ever get ahead of things. Must be my challenge in life.
I found this on Becky Higgins blog and decided to take it to heart - especially the 1st one! For the first hour of the day - DO NOT CHECK EMAIL! Devote this time to the most important task of the day! I've decided that MY most important task of my day, among many others, but 1st on the list is to Pray and Read my Scriptures - I just need a little boost in the morning - so that I can focus on really what's most important! I love that she wrote Family Time = Focus time! That is so true! Take time for the little things. It's gotta get better, RIGHT? It has to!!
The Young Women General Presidency have asked the youth to be PROS:
P: Pray
R: Read Scriptures even if it's 5 minutes a day!
O: Obedient
S: SMILE
I love this, what great council! Not just for the youth, but also for adults. I too am taking that challenge.

So here's to a great {LATE} start in 2011!

Our New Beginnings

Isn't it beautiful? Tia Ault came up with the Theme from Wicked - and decorated around it! It was fantastic! Beautiful decorations, wonderful music, great speakers, and all but 1 of our New Young Women coming in this year (11 of them) What a way to kick off 2011!
