As we were talking about starting back in - we sent the kids back to get their shoes and socks on, the adults were down stream just a ways, and the kids had to go upstream to get their shoes! Well, Jarret headed up there and got his shoes and socks on, but couldn't find anyone, so he got scared and hiked the 2 miles back to the truck. In the meantime we waited for Jarret and called for him, and then I started to panic and pray. We went up the trail, then back down, and back to the dam, and all over calling his name. Brian took off running down the paved trail, and stopped a park ranger and they said they saw him. I went down the trail we came up with everyone, my heart pounding the whole time, praying quietly that he would be ok. About 1/4 of the way down, Jarret called my cell phone - he had climbed in the back of Brian's camper up to the front and found Brian's cell phone. Brian told me when we got to the dam that he had forgotten his cell phone, well I am sure glad he did because Jarret was able to call me. He was crying so hard, and was so scared. He thought we had left him, so he just headed down by himself. There's a few turns in the road, so we are just glad he kept taking the right turns to make it back! We are so glad he is safe, but we sure missed out on some fun photo ops at the big dam!!
